NG14 THEATRE COMPANY’s next fantastic community production hits the stage at Calverton Village Hall this month.

There are only three chances to catch the spooky and spectacular comedy MORT – on Thursday 17th, Friday 18th and Saturday 19th May – and you and the family can be in to see the show for as little as £3 each.

The show…

Stephen Briggs’ stage adaptation of the classic Terry Pratchett novel shows what happens when Death gets to grips with life. We know. It’s a dilemma. But it seems that even the Grim Reaper is not a stranger to tiredness. He can cope with more stress than most (an eternity spent collecting souls is testimony to that) but now he’s decided to take some long overdue time off.

Lured by the irresistible call of dancing, fishing, drinking and gambling (human pleasures outside of his experience to date) Death goes on holiday. But not before passing the scythe to his new apprentice – Mort.

All right, the boy might be hapless and a little dense but he means well. It’s not as if he’s about to save someone he shouldn’t have, cause a rift in time and space and put the whole universe at risk. Is he?

Is he?

Jon Wood directs NG14’s fantastic spring production for adult and junior cast members. With a cast of more than twenty local performers aged 7-60 (including an 8-foot-tall all shimmering, all twinkling Death with authentic scythe accessories) this will be a fast and furious, fun-packed treat for all the family with ghoulish giggles guaranteed. There’s also a big team of part-time creative geniuses busy behind the scenes making the whole thing look and sound amazing – cheers, folks!
