AGE UK | Postural Stability Course Tuesday 23rd Jan

Age UK Nottingham and Nottinghamshire are holding a 12-week Postural Stability exercise course at Calverton Village Hall, William Lee Memorial Park, Park Road, NG14 6SA, starting Tuesday 23rdJanuary at 10.30am until midday. These classes are being delivered in partnership with Nottingham North and East Clinical Commissioning Group and are free for people registered with a Nottingham North & East GP (this includes The Calverton Practice).

Our classes incorporate a mixture of seated and standing exercises, specifically designed to improve strength, balance and to increase confidence around daily activities, ultimately aiming to reduce the risk of falls. Exercises are gentle and delivered at the participant’s own pace.

Booking is essential as class size is limited and a referral form will need to be completed in advance of the first session.

Middlesbrough born, joined the Royal Navy at 16, serving over 13 years and reaching the rank of Chief Petty Officer (Russian Linguist and Communications Analyst). Served aboard HMS ARROW, HMS BEAVER and HMS COVENTRY. Also served with the Royal Marines and the US Navy. Whilst onboard HMS Beaver, took on the additional role of Beaver Scout Liaison Officer, organising ship visits for the Beaver Scout Organisation (up to 5000 people at a time) both in the UK and abroad.
